At Nightingale Infant School we are responsible for running our own catering service; the implementation of which has received high appraisal from the Fretwell Downing Hospitality Group (FDH). To view the FDH case study into our healthier, nutritonally balanced lunches click here
The school menus are prepared on a half termly or termly basis and comply with all Food Nutrition Standards. Furthermore all of our staff have attained a basic food hygiene certificate.
We have school uniform and children are asked to wear this to give them a sense of identity. This comprises of a navy sweatshirt with the school name in gold and navy, a navy skirt for girls and navy, black or grey trousers for boys. Polo shirts in white complete the uniform. Sweatshirts may be purchased from the school office at a cost of £5.50 as well as school reading book bags for £1.75.
For P.E. we ask you to provide a pair of pumps, shorts and a tee-shirt. Trainers cannot be worn. It is important that children have pumps as the floor can get quite chilly in the winter and PE is often taken outdoors in the summer. You will be advised of the days your child does PE. A PE bag is available from reception at a cost of £1.50.
PLEASE MARK ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING CLEARLY WITH YOUR CHILDS NAME (particularly sweatshirts).
Nightingale Infant School encourages two representatives from each class to appear on the school council. The council meets termly with Mrs Liles to discuss a range of issues. There latest request was for playground equipment, which the Headteacher promptly purchased and is now avialable for the enjoyment of all the children.

Please note that your child should be collected by the end of the session time - after this time the school has no legal responsibility for children that have not been collected. Please contact the school if a mishap has occurred and you know that you will be late collecting your child. Can you please ensure that we know who should be collecting your child.
