Dear Parents,
Nightingale Infant School is a community school within the inner city of Derby. We hope that your children will be happy with us, and that we can all work together to ensure that school is both an enjoyable and profitable experience. In fact it was acknowledged in our last Ofsted inspection, that "pupils enjoy coming to school because they are welcomed warmly by all adults and valued individually. They feel secure from their first day in the Foundation Stage and in their classes."
As parents you can do a lot to help. You can encourage your child to complete their homework, listen to them read and show interest in what is happening in school by attending all events they are taking part in.
We would like you to feel able to contact us if you have any worries, problems, questions or indeed good news to share with us. If you would like to talk to me personally then you are welcome. I am usually always available although there may be occasions when an appointment is necessary.
This school belongs to us all, and to succeed governors, staff, pupils, parents and the wider community must work together to continue to provide a good quality of education and an enthusiasm and interest in all aspects of life.
We hope that you will find the information in this website very useful.
Yours sincerely,
J. Toombs
Nightinale Infant School Headteacher
